Barrack ‘Embodied’ Grubby Trump-Era Mideast Decision-Making | Talking Points Memo

. . . . . . .ALL of which lead to corruption, theft, and TREASON!

Sooo…we were desperately worried that the dictator who didn’t attack us on 9/11 might have WMD, and that Iran will eventually make a nuke, but we’re totally cool with selling nuke technology to the dictators who did?!

We may look back on Corona as a net win for getting that idiot out of the WH.

"…subordinated to Trump’s domestic politics, his business interests, and his own sense of personal vanity.”

Nice summary, Josh.

That encapsulates Trumpism, subordination to a supreme, infallible power, personified by fake gold.

So, have you seen Ivana Jr. during her and her Dad’s shilling in UAE for their proposed hotel and golf course? It’s around here somewhere… Maybe she fits the bill.

Was this lobbying for political gain, grifting for laundering money, or spying? Marcy Wheeler is leaning toward spying:

Disagree with this headline (a lot):
1 / Grubby is when the Graft n’ Corruption (GnC) is ~ <$50k at the National level.
2 / This $cheming was at the International level and dealt with UAE’s sweetest spots and plans, affecting political appointments and such, up to and including Secty of State Pompeo.
3 / Plus, UAE was competing with the GnC of Kushner/MLB-Saudia Arabia (nuclear power + weapons) and the Flynn/Turkey nexus (kidnapping, violence on US soil), among others. That would tend to raise the rates, don’t you think?
4 / Of course, TrumpCo’s 15% pay-to-play cut would raise the $-Value, too.

Selling out your country = Treason, not Grubbery

First time ever garage band players had to sign an NDA.

Yes, I think so. If TFG gave a specific deeds pardon, that would imply foreknowledge of the crimes, which would be our friend OoJ.

The thread has lots more tasty nuggets…

All of the above. What she is saying is that what they charged barrack with is technically spying lite. Not, rosenbergs level spying, but it ain’t your everbody-does-it FARA violation.

Funny… I read that as Crony Capital

Here’s an interesting description of FARA vs Section 951 – from the article referenced by @Hatmama and emptywheel.

FARA is designed to encourage transparency by foreign principals attempting to influence the U.S. government or public through public speech, political activities, and lobbying through agents in the United States, not to discourage that conduct itself, [while]
Section 951 . . . is used to prosecute clandestine, espionage-like behavior, information gathering, and procurement of technology on behalf of foreign governments or officials.

“Espionage-like behavior” … that doesn’t sound good.

While I can’t find the presentation where she pitches to the men, here’s a “subtle, demure” pitch to the women:

He brought all of this on himself, listening to Trump.

You are pretty much right on in your analysis. I think they were all treasonous, and all players wanted nuclear power/ AND/or weapons. However, I think TFG can not (and never could) understand three-syllable words. At least, that is what his lawyers will plead. SAD…

Barrack was operating as a foreign agent for hire for the UAE and other countries (Russia included), often against the interests of the US. The indictment is pretty bad for him. The lesson of the Mueller probe is that it’s far too easy to commit treason and get away with it.
