Barr Hints At Adding Roadblocks In Future FBI Probes Into Presidential Campaigns

Attorney General Bill Barr said on Monday that the Justice Department is considering establishing a rule requiring the FBI to obtain his permission before opening an investigation into a presidential campaign.

Just in time for election season.

This is positioning Barr to receive a ‘heads up’ - if ANY shennanigans are detected on the Russian Infiltration Front.

Shocked. I’m not.

Not just a heads-up. Barr wants express veto power over any investigations of foreign election assistance.

If Barr is DISBARRED, can he still be attorney general? Is there a minimum qualification for the job?

Meanwhile, on alternate Earth MJ719, in a fairly unremarkable dimension of the Multiverse, President Hillary Clinton has just commuted the sentence of convict Donald Trump from life-at-hard-labor to indefinite house arrest inside the janitorial closet of 53rd Street Women’s Health Clinic.

CoverUp General Barr” of the Aspiring War Criminal lMPotus should be disbarred and or impeached for not only - NOT doing his job for the American people BUT for also - losing public’s trust in his lies wrt to Mueller’s Report and his personal trips overseas for the IMPotus to fabricate evidence against political opponent(s) at tax payers dime!

ICYMI - Public Citizen.org filed an ethics complaint against MoscowMitch for “Violation of Oath of Office” which CoverUp Barr has also violated.

My hope for the full-blown collapse of Trumpworld is that we get to go through all the shenanigans that have gone on behind closed doors.

Barr is an abysmal man who should be disbarred - no pun intended. Pompeo should never work in government again. Mulvaney either. Sessions should be a pariah.

Underpinning all this is a dark money train pouring in from the churches, the corporations, and the rich. Kicked upstairs like the mafia.

We have to fuck Trump so hard that the entire GOP goes down with him. It will be too decent to forgive all in the name of comity.

These people are anti-American, anti-democratic, anti-black, anti-semitic, anti-gay, and would deliver us to a dictatorship in a minute.

I’m hanging on for what they will do for an endgame. Claiming a dodgy election is too tame now. It will have to be a terror event. The ultimate October surprise.

Just like they decided NOT to investigate the Ukraine whistle blower’s complaint?

I would be a OK with this rule if the Attorney General were not a politically appointed position. But it is, and Trump and Barr have shown just how political and toxic that position can be. We need new laws to insulate criminal investigations from political appointees.

Not doubting for a moment he would try something this foul, what I do doubt is how much longer this admin is going to be (simi)functioning. It feels like the operation chaos they performed last election is not going to work for them this time.

Of course he will.

This guy is goin’ down.

If he does that, he’d better add one requiring him to sign off on investigations of the attorney-general for obstruction of justice.

It is deeply frustrating how few people seem to get how completely Trump has snuffed out the independence of the DoJ, how thoroughly Barr has subverted the rule of law and how dangerous to democracy this is.

This isn’t like putting in an EPA head who guts pollution regulations or even using the DOE to further his solicitation of foreign interference in elections. This is a direct assault on democracy itself. Perversion of the justice system is the first, and most essential, key to sustaining a civilian tyranny.

This is terrifying.

The answers are “yes” and “no.”

"…and the attorney general would have to sign off on,” he said.

So only investigations into Democratic presidential campaigns will get signed off on.

How about we investigate Barr — without his permission. The NY State Bar is on record with this suggestion.

Barr seeks to ensure Trump can, again, commit treason. Barr wants to protect his sole client Trump from any oversight into his clear conspiracy with Russia to again hack a presidential election. At this point Barr is openly obstructing justice. He needs to go to prison when his sole client leaves office.
