I lean in your direction. I think the point of prosecuting the enablers makes the point much sharper-the point being we can elect an idiot, but that doesn’t excuse those around the idiot from also acting like idiots.
The cruelest punishment I can see for Trump is to truly make him into a pariah. By denying him an audience and an outlet to rant will cause him to self emplode.

How many US Attorneys are there? And is Barr going hand out to each and everyone of them that don’t already have an investigation assigned to them an investigation? I mean come on man Obama served 8 years, that’s a lot dirt to sift through.

…the pattern shows an eagerness at the Justice Department to validate sensational allegations pushed by President Trump, even as many of these reviews have yet to produce evidence supporting the accusations.
Best I can tell. it’s kinda like having the Ukrainians launch an investigation into Joe Biden.
The pay off isn’t in what’s found (which’ll never be more than ‘Not much,’) but in having the matter under investigation, open to possible findings.

By a large margin too. They’ve been doing it to spy on Dems and to track who knows what about their less than savory behavior behind the scenes. Nothing is more valuable to a criminal than forewarning that someone is on to them.
