Bannon’s Legal Team Claims Prosecutors Sought Email, Phone Records Of Defense Lawyer | Talking Points Memo

OT: Joel Greenberg’s attorneys have requested to postpone his sentencing again, and once again the prosecution does not object. Joel Greenberg is the star witness (took a 10 year minimum plea deal) in the north Florida politicians’ sex with minors case. This will be the second time it gets postponed (assuming the judge is amenable). The original rescheduled sentencing was to be this March.

This indicates that Greenberg ain’t done cooperating yet, and the prosecution still finds him useful. Since judges don’t put up with infinite postponements, they will have to file concrete reasons (juicy details on who he’s dishing on) for the second postponement. That, alas, will be under seal: https://www.fox13news.com/news/gaetz-friend-joel-greenberg-requests-sentencing-delay-as-he-works-with-feds

A contemporaneous record of an event that just happened. Very useful as corroboration of subsequent testimony on the subject matter thereof.

You know how fucking unusual it is for the defense attorney in a federal case to get hit with search warrants (involuntary) and FBI interviews, even voluntary ones?

Is there a point where they can circle back to the first set of attornies? They are jerks, after all.

Thanks. I am no kind of lawyer, just a retired biochemist who doesn’t need to memorialize notes, emails and such since all I’d hafta do is check my files (I have a lot of old journal articles) or see what’s in my email. I’ve never emailed myself as it seems redundant… And my memory is still fairly functional tho I do have trouble remembering names of folks I haven’t seen in a couple decades and weren’t all that tight with.

Nothing I learned on TV on Law & Order and Perry Mason prepared me for this and why hasn’t Garland totally convicted them all yet? /s

Costello’s in a fix because he appears to have lied to the FBI as to his interactions with Trump’s attorneys. I don’t believe this has anything to do with his representation of Bannon - in fact, I believe Bannon may have chosen Costello to represent him even after his interviews with the FBI. Maybe just so Bannon could play the victim card?

Ah yes … a note that states fact prior to memory expanding events with subsequent bullshit.

Do attorneys of attorney’s attorneys give unprofessional discounts?

“Making Attorneys’ Attorneys Get Attorneys”

It’s pronounced MA-A-GA!

It’s the screaming version.

Is it as bad as a lawyer representing themselves (thinking of Avenatti)?

FWIW, Costello already represented Bannon in the We Build the Wall fraud case, on which Bannon was out on bail when he was pardoned January 20th. He may still be representing him in that case if there are state charges.

And before you know what the full facts are, so less opportunity to obfuscate or shade the truth.

Always nice to watch Bannon sweat it out. He bit off more than he can chew this time and will be swatted down like the annoying bug he is.

Perhaps they should double their rate because the client has purposely been a dumb fuck and should know better.

This is a response to @pshah

Avenatti’s actually done ok for himself, getting one mistrial such that he gets to continue home detention during the retrial rather than reporting to prison.

You’ll know it’s bad when he starts asking what time Happy Hour is at the fed pen. And what sort of mixed nuts are on offer.

That’s too funny!

Will prosecutors be violated???
