Azar Defends WH’s Refusal To Share COVID Vaccine Plans With Biden’s Transition Team

We need Jim Fowler and Marlin Perkins (may their memories be a blessing) with tranquilizer darts.

Wonder how much of that transition stonewalling has to do that there are so many Potemkin villages?

I would venture to guess that these cowardly Republicans are worried about (1) losing all those succulent GOP voters and (2) being gunned down, blown up, kidnapped, or having these things done to their family if the diss The Great God Trump. Greed and fear, same things that drive the stock market.

We already knew he’s a second-rate idiot. His political career is over, anyway. He’ll no doubt go back to a cushy job in industry, working for a company just pleased as punch to have the Washington connection.

No, it does not.

Alex Azar is a shitty human being …

angling for his next gig (he is 53 years old & probably figures that he will try to pull down some sky high salary for the next 20 years ) - he is desperately trying to not jeopardize board positions or piss off any potential future employers … or piss off donors - if he decides to run for office …

seriously … He is not really a “Pharma” guy … yeah he was at Eli Lilly - for about 10 years - but virtually all of his activity was “healthcare system policy” & government relations - he has a BA in government & economics and a law degree & spent far more of his life embedded in strident conservative legal circles.

FROM FORBES -

Alex Azar, 52

Secretary of Health & Human Services

Net worth: $15 million

A onetime clerk for Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia, Azar served as deputy secretary of health and human services during the George W. Bush administration. In 2007, he left Washington for Indianapolis, where he spent a decade at the pharma giant Eli Lilly. By 2017, Azar was earning an annual salary of nearly $2 million and had built up at least $3.4 million of Eli Lilly stock. Trump tapped him to replace Tom Price, who resigned amid ethics scandals.

As far as "Defend " WH - didn’t see any ‘defending’ just a lot of talking in circles …

And also their own followers, ironically: the maskless, congregating, loud yelling and singing hordes of EverTrumpers.

Makes sense. But they should know there are career civil servants who has info to these transactions, and there are IGs embedded within each department to ferret out these stuff.

No?

Uh, don’t forget fucked up.
We’ve had front row seats watching how the Trump team, pre-election, and maladministration time have fucked up getting from point A to point B with the gear, and personnel in a timely manner.

Also Emily Murphy, honey, you’re the whipping dog here. Everyone one in Trump world is laying the blame at your feet. Is $155,689 worth it?

Pressed on why having those discussions isn’t “appropriate,” the Trump official repeated his excuse.

“GSA has to make a determination that a transition is in effect. That determination hasn’t been made,” he said.

  1. When you have nothing to say, it is better not to say anything.
  2. Admit it, you were pushed out to say this by your boss.
  3. Biden won you ditz!

I’ll wait until the Biden team takes over to trust anything about vaccines coming out of the current executive branch of our government. I believe when that happens there will be a lot more transparency with the process describing the creation of the vaccine and the related data provided. Its taxpayer money that went into those companies to come up with a vaccine of course so it’s not exactly proprietary information from that perspective. I believe the vaccine, both in its formation and its distribution, will eventually all be made clear, with better spokespersons and public health officials we can trust along with coordinating a more integrated approach, in charge of the effort. Until then, I can wait. Shit, I’ve been waiting since my own personal lockdown since last March. I can wait a few more months if I have to. Oh, and fuck Azar. He’s been a disaster since the beginning. I think he came in as a pharmaceutical lobbyist to run HHS from the get-go. The man seems to know nothing about public health to begin with.
