AZ AG Defends Sketchy Audit, Tells AG Garland He’s ‘Not Amused’ By DOJ ‘Posturing’ | Talking Points Memo

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) told the U.S. Justice Department Monday that that DOJ was “supporting the hysterical outcries of leftist pundits on cable television” when it sent a letter last month inquiring about the state’s partisan recount of the 2020 election.

“My office is not amused by the DOJ’s posturing”

Dude, they weren’t telling jokes. You weren’t supposed to be amused, but keep it up because I assure you the rest of us will laugh our asses off when you’re carted off in cuffs.

We’ll see your state sovereignty and raise you one principles of Democracy.

I’d fold now, if I were you.

Full faith and credit of USA vs. the right-wing-nut-job wing of the Arizona GOP? I’ll take those odds. The AZ AG must be getting too much adrenochrome.

He’s been licking the crazy toads.

A-Z isn’t going to release the results of the audit until late summer? Why the hold up? It couldn’t do this last November.

Really wonder what was going on then with Fox News, Kushner and AZ being called for Biden.

They need time to fabricate the fraud they couldn’t find.

I guess the feeling is mutual - Garland and the DOJ aren’t amused either.

I would’ve thought this would have long since been resolved. I mean, how many times can they count the same documents?

Another indication of ignorance and incompetence.

“My office is not amused by the DOJ’s posturing and will not tolerate any effort to undermine or interfere with our State Senate’s audit to reassure Arizonians of the accuracy of the elections,” Brnovich wrote. “We stand ready to defend federalism and state sovereignty against any partisan attacks or federal overreach.”

He defends “federalism” against “federal overreach”? Regarding the results of a national, Federal election?

And he was elected AG?

Meanwhile, what info were they able to gather about voters to use later to intimidate them? The longer these morons have access, the worse it could get.

It’s not really that bad. Voter registration lists (including voting history and some contact information) are public records. They could have that information just for asking for it and covering duplication charges.

A license to practice law is usually a requirement to run for AG. Neither a law license nor a J.D. constitute assurance that the holder understands the law.

Cut off from the bottom of Brnovich’s letter:

“P.S. Should you continue this witch hunt, we are prepared to hire Rudolph Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Lin Wood to defend the honor of the great State of Arizona.”

He accused Garland of displaying “disdain” for state sovereignty.

Brnovich must have throught that he was the Czech in the description of “checks and balances” in his civics class. Erroneously.

It’s obvious GOP state legislatures are working towards the goal of deciding winners and losers in future elections, regardless the vote tally. Walling off Federal intervention is just one component of the plan. Stripping local and state election boards and agencies, along with State Secretaries of State, of any legal role in election outcomes is another.

If this is to work, they need “evidence” of voter fraud. The longer they keep this up, the better the chances of finding inventing something.

Some states may publicize audit results alleging vote tampering and other shenanigans, and call for their state’s awarding of victory to Biden to be nullified. Then FOX/OAN/Newsmax will go on a tear amplifying it.
How long after all that before prominent members of the House and Senate, not backbenchers, join the call to “review” the last election and revisit the outcome?

Ah, the “Joe Arpaio method” of responding to federal oversight. Yeah, how’d that work out for him, again?

Hey pal, news flash: 45* isn’t there any more to pardon you.
