As Trump Whips Up Hysteria, Barr Tells DOJ It Can Probe Election Fraud Claims | Talking Points Memo

WASHINGTON (AP) — Attorney General William Barr has authorized federal prosecutors across the U.S. to pursue “substantial allegations” of voting irregularities, if they exist, before the 2020 presidential election is certified, despite little evidence of fraud.

Well, they are definitely making the attempt to throw the election into the justice system…the question is how far they take it. There is no evidence of fraud in the voting system or counting process…in fact, the largest evidence of fraud is in the delayed and missing ballots due to the USPS processing issues, caused by DeJoy’s policy decisions. So far, that doesn’t seem to have swayed the election, but the thousands of ballots that had trouble or disappeared in Democratic areas really should be investigated; that will only happen when Biden’s AG takes over, Barr won’t bother doing an investigation of something that might hurt the Republican case.

Let’s see how far they try to push it…if they really go full on and try to overturn the win by Biden they will regret it, I don’t think the majority of Americans will stand for a stolen election. A real stolen election, not this trumped up nonsense by the Republicans.

So does this include an investigation of Hunter Biden?

In a surprise to absolutely no one, Barr will be a piece of shit scumbag to the bitter end.

Keep licking those boots, Billy Bag-Man — it’s all you have left.

Honestly, fuck that guy.

An overhyped headline, IMO. Barr said to investigate if something big needs to be investigated but don’t waste time with nickel and dime belly aching.

BTW, where is Barr these days?

IANAL, but the language quoted in the letter sounds like the sort of thing chiefly intended to placate Trump and the MAGA people out there.

Or am I missing something in there?

I don’t think they care if they piss off the 51% who voted for Biden. Their goal is to push this to the Supreme Court and I’m betting they will. As to the outcome? I’m still not all the way out of my dark place, yet.

His investigations will be as unsuccessful as the “unmasking” inquiries went, and they had way more time to drum up any “evidence”.

I read into that statement the same way. It placates the audience of one.

Let’s see what Biden says. And let’s see what a number of people above our pay grade say.

I do know that this bending of the rules by Barr has never happened before, people know that this has never happened before, and that the Republicans cannot be allowed to do this. Maybe we cannot stop them and maybe we can…and if we can, the work will be done by an aroused citizenry supporting officials who have the capability of checking the man-baby in the WH.

I cannot wait for Barr’s replacement to come in at 12:01 pm on Jan. 20th. What will the first official act be? Withdrawing the motion to withdraw in the Flynn case? Terminating these so called investigations? Oh, there are so many to choose from.

Do your best Barr as you slide into obscurity.

You were a fuck face years ago and you thought you could find a way back to being meaningful. You did, but in the worst way.

Probe all you want. The outcome is known.

If you come out in front you draw the path to your end.

We may not be able to prosecute you but there may be a state who might find a way to revoke your license to practice law. Up and then down, and then dead. Both figuratively and physically. You are doomed to the dung heap.

History has its eyes on you, MoFo!

Yes, that’s what it looked like to me. Qualified and almost skeptical, but something Trump can latch on to and think something is being done.

Barr wrote that investigations “may be conducted if there are clear and apparently-credible allegations of irregularities that, if true, could potentially impact the outcome of a federal election in an individual State.”

The states that put Biden well over 270 generally have done so with vote margins of tens of thousands. How the hell is it “credible” that anything other than massive fraud could be involved when objective studies have shown time after time that actual fraud is miniscule? I think Barr is being too clever by half here. But of course the point is to just sow confusion and delay, not to actually find anything.

Covering his ass. Barr knows there is nothing there but he might need a republican judge someday.
