As Trump Derides Vote By Mail, GOP Fears Dampened Turnout

Actually, I find it cycles through to completion around about 7p eastern. I end up checking ‘yesterday’ at the top of the display after about 6p central, because the day’s numbers have already been transferred.

“It’s very concerning for Republicans,” an anonymous “top party operative” told the Washington Post, echoed by other GOPers.

That’s just too fucking bad. You own him, and he owns you.

Yes, I’m citing Greenwich Mean Time so that makes sense. It’s around 5:00 PM in AZ, GMT-7.

Every single problem we’re dealing with now stems from the fact that we never actually suppressed the virus and then put the infrastructure in place to keep it suppressed. It’s like we’re trying to figure out a way to live in a burning building. It doesn’t work.

This is what bothers me with the eternally optimistic Trump view point. He is telling us to expect these people to rise up and keep him in power. But as far as it can be seen he is static on those numbers if not losing people as each day goes by.

When we all were expecting Clinton to win without breathing hard, the world took a hard right on us. And seemingly against every poll out there except those cited by Trump and his campaign. No one believes he won fair and square. How this was managed we can argue back and forth. But he has been doing the same routine, claiming that all the polls out there showing him severely down are incorrect and outright fabrications. He is doing it again, trying to build a story of credibility for a win and a chance to go “I told you so”. We cannot rest easy. And we had better be hyper vigilant during the vote. He has a fix in place and will pull it. The only thing is the numbers are getting too broad for a surprise win by legitimate means. This will force him into more gyrations to make it plausible.

Some are trying to thread the needle: Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh explained to the Washington Post that the President is solely warning of absentee ballot fraud and not besmirching the vote-by-mail concept in totum.

“Thread the needle“? Oh, just come out and say it. Voting by mail is fine for the right (read white) people, but we can’t have others doing it. Only a matter of time before Trump says this out loud.

When your toadies are always explaining what you meant, you’re losing.

I’d go back a bit further in time and say everything right now stems from electing Trump. We wouldn’t be in this inferno with a President Hillary Clinton.

When’s he going to puff up and explode? I shouldn’t compare the innocent puffer fish to Resident Rump, but the resemblance is uncanny.

“Mail-In Ballots will lead to MASSIVE electoral fraud and a RIGGED 2020 Election. We cannot let it happen!”

“Democrats will ship BUSLOADS of mail-in voters up from Massachusetts, hundreds and hundreds!"

It seems to me that in-person voting could also be subject to fraud. I think Republicans should take that into account and refuse to vote in person as well as by mail. That’ll show those libs!

News reported a couple/few weeks ago that a bunch of idiots in Michigan had a absentee ballot request form burning party. They torched their mail-in ballot request forms! Just took away the option from themselves. You can’t make this stuff up.

Another oops.

Another thing they could do is require districts without a ratio of say, 100-150:1 of voters to FUNCTIONAL voting machine, to send out mail in ballots. Although I see no reason at all for even that requirement to be eligible for mail in.

And in some states’ primaries, like Virginia and Georgia, Democrats have far outpaced Republicans in casting mail-in ballots.

“It’s a legitimate question whether or not the president’s rhetoric changes voter behavior on the Republican side,” Josh Holmes, an adviser to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), told the Washington Post. “I think there’s some evidence to suggest that it has.”

If his voters are stupid enough to reject already established mail-in ballots, we shouldn’t discount the idea that maybe they aren’t returning ballots because they started drinking lysol a couple of months ago.
