This all serves as a reminder: If everyone, everyone, would stay home for three weeks, we could starve this virus of its hosts and be on the road to recovery. It’s so simple that, of course, people will complicate the hell out of it. The only complicating factor is that we don’t have national leadership that can do this.

Interesting tidbit from the book. When donnie introduced Mary to Melania…he said that Mary had overcome a huge drug addition. Mary interjected that she had never used drugs, but donnie kept jabbering about her addiction and gave her a weird look. He flat out enjoys lying, particularly if it puts others in a bad light.

Meanwhile much of the world is viewing America with distain. All the errors in judgement at every level of government Can only make outsiders laugh. I also pity all of you for having to endure this asshattery.
Today I read about Rumps push to open schools. He threatens to remove funds and undoubtedly those funds will end up in one of DeVos’s pet projects. She is also making threats and both site the EU example.
There is no comparison. For the most part countries in the EU are taking a cautionary approach. They have also been able to flatten the curve of spread. R factors are way down so wide spreading is less likely. Of course this isn’t true in America.
They are also preparing for a second wave by maintaining testing. This is particularly true within the school setting.

Or we can look at the glass half full, which is to say the virus is thinning out the stupids and willfully ignorant. Though there will be casualties of the unintended kind. It just means that we really are in a War against a deadly virus.
I know that this is weird but I look at the long range, that each one of us are descendants of ancestors that survived the different plagues, wars, droughts, and other methods that took a toll on human life. We are all products of people who made it through.
