Who?
In this museum, all the assholes come to life at night!
Ari Fleischer takes his time, thinks things through and is always an idiot. He never disappoints.
Don’t you just love it when folks like Fleischer and Trump opine about stuff they know nothing about. Absolutely nothing either says will turn Seattle or WA state Red. NOTHING. As someone who lives in Seattle, my wish is that the protesters organize a bit better, work with Seattle King County BLM more than they do now and use their political power to create an agenda of achievable goals. Currently, they have a laundry list of stuff -some of which has already been done or in the process. They are mostly young but full of energy and that energy can be harnessed for positive change.
“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” ― George Orwell
“I don’t know what the difference is between the Confederacy and CHOP, other than slavery,”
THIS IS A HEINOUSLY OBSCENE FALSE EQUIVALENCE
just to help the cognitively challenged idiot Fleischer … here are a few things(other than slavery) that make the Confederacy and CHOP far far beyond comparison:
-
360,222 members of the armed forces of United States of America - died
… how many at “CHOP”? … and no, seriously butt-hurt whiny rightwingers wailing “Oh my god! I was so upset I could have died” … does not count as “died” -
Twice as many Civil War soldiers died from disease as from battle wounds … maybe Trump will continue to be a total incompetent disaster in his handling of COVID-19 and rival the Civil War era - but that’s on him not CHOP
-
The Confederacy was accountable for approximately 13,000 Union prisoners perishing at Andersonville, and following the war its commander, Confederate Captain Henry Wirz (1823-65), was tried, convicted and executed for war crimes. Gee CHOP is kinda different isn’t it Ari ?
-
The Centralia Massacre - was an incident during the American Civil War in which 24 unarmed Union soldiers were captured and executed in Centralia, Missouri on September 27, 1864
-
The Great Hanging at Gainesville - was the execution by hanging of 41 suspected Unionists in Gainesville, Texas, in October 1862
-
The Battle of Fort Pillow, also known as the Fort Pillow massacre - was fought on April 12, 1864, at Fort Pillow on the Mississippi River in Henning, Tennessee, during the American Civil War. The battle ended with a massacre of African-American Union troops and their white officers attempting to surrender, by soldiers under the command of Confederate Major General Nathan Bedford Forrest. Military historian David J. Eicher concluded: "Fort Pillow marked one of the bleakest, saddest events of American military history.
so all in all … Ari Fleischer has once again proven himself to be a feckless PUTZ !
Better comparison to Confederacy: What’s inside Trump’s White House Wall.
Rapier wit as always, but is the hair on him or the talking rectum? Just trying to get the visual correct.
I viewed CHOP as more akin to the movie “Cats”. A bunch of good people dressed up in bad costumes, with a poor director, opening to poor reviews and closing to no one’s dismay.
2 murders, several assaults, a rape, windows broken by stray bullets, etc became untenable for the neighborhood. This is a mixed use residential/commercial area within the greater Capital Hill neighborhood. Early Monday morning a 16 was shot to death after crashing a car into a barricade near the precinct and some CHOP tent campers. His 14 yr old passenger was critically injured (shot) and is now in serious condition and looks as if he will recover. Both were shot by CHOP security at the scene of the crash. This and the shooting death of a 19 y.o. the week before was the rationale given to sweep it out. Also several businesses in the neighborhood filed a class action against the City for allowing CHOP. Many are calling for the Mayor to resign -not me. Some in CHOP attributed the sweep to a group who marched to the Mayor’s house. Maybe that factored into the sweep but 2 murders of 2 black teenagers in the span of a week probably was the driving reason.
Of all the crazy shit happening in the US and world right now, he comments about a couple of square blocks in Seattle?
Brainless
Offensive
Said with shock-value in mind
Soon to be forgotten, unless footnotes (ibid., op cit, ect.) count
Republicans in other parts of the country seem to think Seattle is being looted and burned to the ground by anarchists. Colleagues of mine have had relatives call to check on their safety.
Frankly, at a time when we’re debating Confederate statues, I don’t know what the difference is between the Confederacy and CHOP, other than slavery
Once again Ari Fleischer proves the old saying… Once an asshole, Always an asshole
Ari demonstrates that Donnie Benadick fully represents the present day Republican party.
You can remove Donnie from office. You can remove him from the Republican party. But you cannot take the spirit of Donnie from the GOP. That ghost of so many terrible parts of our past owns them completely now, including Ari.
I’ve heard of this as well. Seattle is a city of 700,000 people. My neighborhood remains intact and quiet. Last night’s demonstration went on until the wee hours this morning and was loud according to those streaming it. Perhaps, it would be more impactful if the demonstrators sat down in front of the police line and were completely quiet. The contrast would be remarkable.
“other than slavery” is a very bad clause to just throw at the end of a sentence.
So, does this mean we can look forward to statues celebrating the protestors for the next 150 years?
“other than slavery”
Other than slavery???
Cuz you know slavery is just a minor thing…
