Wonder how Manchin screws this up?

Sounds like two great nominees. Get some balance back to the Federal Courts. Let’s go.

Sounds like just what we need.

Biden is a lame duck President. Everyone agrees a sitting President in the last 3-3/4 years of his term needs to let the people voting in the next election have a say in important judicial nominations.

Every GOP senator will be opposed which would make the appointment purely partisan so he has to vote no to preserve Senate comity and keep from destroying our government.

Twice Impeached will withdraw the nomination when he’s reinstalled in August

Schumer wanted to start having donuts catered to the Senate offices every Friday morning. Manchin vetoed it, said doing so would lead to us being overtaken by the Russians.

Oh boy, two non-white people with a history of working for voting rights nominated for high court positions? The histrionics during their nominating sessions will be epic, as Republicans paint them as the worst people in the world.

“The nominees are too partisan, next!”

Pithy considerations aside - I commend Schumer for offering two high-caliber attorneys whose careers correspond with pending voting rights legislation. It will be interesting to see how the contrarians respond to their profiles. I think of it as Schumer taking names of the troublemakers (aside from nominating people we need on the bench).

Hmm. I thought that the closest thing to a donut in the Euro-pastry universe was the bismarck

That’s German, not Russian, ja?

It’s beyond subtle now. Rand Paul and Louie Gohmert will just come right out and say it: “These two partisans want to make it too easy for blacks and other minorities to vote!! They must be stopped!!”

I avoid bismarcks. They sink in your coffee.

Probably. The language out of Arizona seems to follow the idea of raising the quality, rather than the quantity of voters - or some diseased logic like that.

We’ve got to get organized!

And by Friday, both of these people will have been demonized on Faux News and right wing media to the point they start receiving so many and unceasing death threats that they need 24/7 security.
