Nomination is meaningless, any doofus can mail in a letter saying why they think someone should get it. There is a reason the actual committee doesn’t list the nominees, because it’s a list that comes from the public at large and is endlessly long every single year.
I used to work with one person (who was just any doofus) who would annually nominate another person we worked with (this was not actually absurd, the nominee had a better case than Trump) and then the nominator was and still is the only person who would ever refer to the nominee as ‘Nobel Prize Nominee’ (the nominee has since passed away and is no longer eligible)

It’s not the first time this happened: Tybring-Gjedde nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize once before (for his work with Kim Jung Un of North Korea).
I wonder what an investigation of the finances or background of one Christian Tybring-Gjedde would reveal. Perhaps some financial dependence on Russian money sources? Perhaps some kompromat? There is definitely significant racism given his anti-immigrant stance.
