Anti-Abortion Officials Continue Deputizing Angry Men To Turn Over Their Partners In New Legal Foray

“It’s giving away the game: It has been about, all this time, men controlling women, and they’re not even pretending anymore,”

The anti-abortion movement has always been an astroturf movement. At the time of Roe, few religious sects, other than the Catholic Church, had positions on it, much less officially opposed abortion. But a handful of fascist influencers decided to make it a wedge issue and built a religious movement out of it in order to push back on the rights and liberties of women.

This has never been about “respect for life.”
Oh, by the way, fuck their religion.

I am wondering if the partner requested the $10,000 or whatever the amount of the Texas finder fee lawsuit is for reporting abortion providers or enablers ie driving the women to the clinic

Yet they keep getting re-elected by landslides. That can only mean that they are in sync with they people they represent.

Which says a lot about Texas voters.
Hey, @txlawyer, how did a majority of Texans get to be such assholes?

“Fascist” is the wrong word here. I’m so old, I can remember when these words used to have meanings. Other than just “BAAAAAD!!”

I’ll have to disagree with that. The RW, and specifically the Republican party has long had a solid core of fascists. They are just being more visible recently.

Among the pieces of wisdom that my father gave me, that have stood the the test of time is :

“Texans are crazy about the whole thing.”

I have maintained that you can’t spell crazy without R-AZ. @txlawyer assures me that R-AZ ain’t got nothing on R-TX.

I simply hate these men. It’s not pretty, but their desire for revenge/punishment gets my dander up.

It’s a relatively rare side effect, but it’s known to happen.

This is 100% false.

I believe Houston and Austin are bastions of Democratic politics, but they get swamped by the crazy-stupid in the hinterlands.

It is a legal requirement to include the address where the defendant is to be served with citation and a copy of the suit. Her address is also readily available via Google search. She appears to practice out of her home, which is also listed as her business address.

Just wait till President Sleazy E names Paxton to head the National Sex Police!

Paxton clearly imagines that women exist solely as sperm receptacles for whenever fascist assholes get a hard-on and there isn’t a young hot guy around to service them. Like the Nazi before them, all far right fascists are self-loathing gay men who’d rather set the world on fire than deal with their own issues.

Depends. Cruz and Paxton both run well behind other statewide R’s. And with the exception of this godawful year, their margins are steadily shrinking.

Is it true that Paxton’s long running felony fraud case was dropped just before trial was to start? And he paid some sort of restitution?
Does he have any other case against him?

That’s your area of expertise.

You are far more skilled than I in that regard.
