What’s really sad is the level of discourse these days. I remember when you didn’t insult people, or at least you weren’t supposed to, it was considered juvenile and ineffective. If I offended anyone is the most chickenshit excuse of all time, if you don’t know you shouldn’t be speaking in a public forum, or you should demonstrate just a little personal responsibility and embrace your assholery.
It’s hard, very hard, with people so hateful and insecure and weak at heart to not reply in kind, but we all need to try and, not raise the level of discussion, but raise the quality of our discourse.
I called my local CBS news station yesterday and told them on a voice mail to their programming line, I wouldn’t watch their station as long as the my pillow traitorous jerk was advertising on their channel. I was undecided between jerk and creep, I went with jerk. He’s apparently selling a new product in the same creepy Aunt/Uncle Child Molester way.
Shunned, that’s one of the strategies that needs to be employed
