A second Republican candidate for Mississippi governor refuses to be alone with any woman who is not his wife — even in a professional setting.
The misogyny truck just ran into the ditch and is mired in the mud…again.
Ya think any self-respecting woman would want to be alone with you?
Perhaps we get these “gentlemen” (and by “gentlemen”, I mean “pigs”) a male chastity belt and some duct tape for their mouths, if they have so little control?
Has it ever been determined that if these horn dog a-holes were seen with an openly gay man what the outcome would be?
Any flimsy excuse to justify exclusively white male entrenchment in our power structures. Women must always be accompanied by men anywhere they go in public, “for their protection”.
I’ve spent time in Mississippi and it’s a pretty horny state if you ask me, all that Bible talk notwithstanding. But even there, dude, I think your wife has very little to worry about. No offense but the Chippendales won’t be calling you any time soon.
That seems like another country the US is allied with… with a giant orb.
Wow, that guy has about the reddest face I’ve ever seen on a human and I think we can rule out a post-coital flush.
I believe that this practice among R politicians should never be mentioned without highlighting its real aim, the exclusion of women from public life. It really, really is not a case of “my campaign, my rules”, a sort of private religious matter of conscience, because tolerating this practice means that women can be systematically excluded from activities they have to be free to engage in if they are to follow any occupation that involves association with men.
This practice comes from the idea that women belong at home, and only at home, that women who seek any occupation outside the home are temptresses and harlots, because women’s only proper roles are having sex with men and housekeeping. People who hold this belief are welcome to practice it at home and in their personal lives, but should not be allowed to foist it on the rest of us by holding any position in society where the practice would interfere with women’s ability to have public lives themselves. Public office is the extreme case, the case in which allowing these people to have their way clearly and categorically discriminates against half the population.
So another post-modern conservative using religion as a bad faith argument to try to get his way.
This very small but growing little movement has nothing to do with religion but everything to do with keeping the ‘professional settings’ a boys club.
I would respond with a flippant #notmytype, but don’t want to minimize the utter misogyny.
Women are evil.
Let’s just say if you’re a man you’d rather be called a misogynist by someone you don’t take seriously anyway than be told you’re over the hill and a couple hundred miles down the road on the other side and no sane woman would ever find you attractive.
Who in the Hell would want to have sex with that disgusting old man.
These men seem to be announcing their belief that women are prone to lying about a man assaulting or harassing them and are thus making sure they aren’t the VICTIM of a woman’s claims of misbehavior.
It’s difficult to explain Christian fundy Republicans to even myself, they are so perverse!
do these idiots think that being alone with female pheromones will so overwhelm themselves that things will become embarrassingly sticky?
True Believers know that it is an affront to the Living God Donald the Trump to have any woman before He does. Thus, they are careful as to not risk the wrath of The Great One Himself.
YES! I was thinking about how to say this, and you absolutely nailed it!
It’s suspicious that they start to behave this way collectively all of a sudden. I believe these rethugs have been alone with women before. Reporters should find the proof of that and throw it in their stupid faces. But more importantly, why should people elect someone who proudly claim that he can’t function on most occasions?
