Alleged Insurrectionist Blabs About Further Misdeeds While Repping Himself At Hearing | Talking Points Memo

This is the thing I don’t get about Trumpublicans: If I realized that I was on the same side as this idiot, I would think I’d want to be somewhere else. But nope! The dumbfucklicans are fine with being in league with this kind of slime.

I’m quick to anger (raised that way) and I suppose it shows, but not by this, you pack of mischievous rascals. It’s more like gently indulgent exasperation. It’s a phase, you’ll all grow out of it I’m sure.

Everyone stays “alleged” until they’re convicted.

If he’s not returning your calls don’t worry, it’s not about you.

True, but I kinda figured his 2 hour confession kinda guarantees the outcome.

Now I’m mad.

I got enough goats (and probably more on the way, since the first heat cycle is over already).

Well, if you’re gonna do some rioting, you want some “interesting” looking people in your crowd, so when the cops starting busting heads and rounding people up, they go after the rodeo clowns first. Gives you time to skedaddle.

Michael Flynn pled guilty before two different judges, then his new attorney Powell said “backsies!” and got his sentencing delayed until pardon season opened.

Probably. But until a person’s convicted, the only thing you can publicly say without fear of defaming him or her is that they were alleged to have done a thing, because that’s a fact.

Stupidly proud and mentally unstable, just like DJT.

I do think “I’ve read law books for two weeks, so I am qualified” pretty much sums up this whole group’s attitude toward the Constitution and governance.

Idiocy on parade.

OH! and the photo is flipped…although I do enjoy seeing all TFG’s signs backwards.

Prosecutors haven’t gone hard on misdemeanor sentencing because misdemeanor sentencing is not supposed to be hard. The theoretical max is 6 months, and the only way anybody would ever get to that max is by already having a serious criminal record. It is quite out-of-the-ordinary for a misdemeanor defendant to serve any time at all. 30 days is throwing the book at them.

A better question is why prosecutors are only charging so many of the J6 defendants with misdemeanors, or allowing so many felony defendants to plead down. And the answer to that, I am pretty certain, is because the prosecutors mostly lack direct proof that the non-violent and non-conspiracy defendants intended to obstruct the electoral vote count proceeding. That’s what gets your mainline MAGA insurrectionist charged with felony obstruction. And these misdemeanor idiots mostly didn’t say or do anything that would rise to that level of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

Wait for the 1/6 insurrectionists to cite Soledad brother George Jackson. That’s when we’ll have history’s rhymes that repeat.

and admitted to skipping mental health and drug evaluations ordered by the court.

Um…I’m not sure either of these is necessary.

This is why TFG’s lawyers never let him be deposed.

“You’ve admitted to obstruction of justice in that case, and you’ve admitted to what was probably obstruction in this case in trying to have me disqualified, and only Ms. Halverson’s advice stopped you from doing so,” he continued, referring to Fellow’s former public defender.

Making it easy for the prosecutors.
