President Donald Trump is bunkering very strongly.
He has no public events scheduled on Thursday — and he has yet to emerge from the safe cocoon of the White House after the United States crossed the grim threshold of more than 250,000 coronavirus-related deaths on Wednesday.
His absence is particularly surprising as he has often been described by aides and allies as almost obsessive about orchestrating optics that paint him in a dazzling light.
Me, I’d be surprised if you could observe the loss of a quarter-million lives you barely lifted a finger to save in a way that came within a mile of painting yourself in a dazzling light.
“Aside from failing to publicly address the nation on the intensifying COVID-19 crisis, which is almost certain to get worse as the end of the year approaches, Trump has even avoided appearances on his favorite conservative news channels — a practice that he notably kept up with even as he recovered from COVID-19 last month.”
The entire article reeks of a president in the midst of a mental melt down.
The seat isn’t his and that means he is about to lose his wonderful toys. He doesn’t want to play anymore. Are we up to the point he is staying in the residence with strict orders to not be disturbed. Pops out periodically to yell some nonsense and retreats again. Definitely bad news would be forbidden, only bring him good things. Meaning, well, the staff doesn’t have much to tell him.
Well to be fair one day it will disappear. When Biden starts addressing it, when we have a vaccine, we replace 1/2 of the population who has detached from reality.
So in a hundred years or so it WILL disappear. Remember there is no specific date in that statement.
Completely unrelated, but a coworker today told me he was on Medicare and it was pretty good. Then later I was drumming on a part he was working on and he said "don’t do that you’ll leave marks or if you’re a democrat you’ll leave Karl Marx. Was tempted to say something about his socialist health care then thought, no people like that are so stupid and they’ll never acknowledge it.
There’s always the scenario that in the midst of dealing with this virus an entirely new and different one starts to spread. Or two or three of them. Equally as deadly and widespread. Imagine that.
You know, I am sure he has extensive knowledge of the works of Karl Marx. You should have engaged in a discussion of means of production, labor economics, and theories that were written well over a hundred years ago. But then again he probably wishes we lived in that America anyway…
