Alex Jones Says He Pleaded The 5th Almost 100 Times In Front Of Jan. 6 Panel | Talking Points Memo

Someone created a cryptocurrency called Shit Outta Luck? Shouldn’t they all be called that? :grinning:

I still don’t see why they don’t put people like Eastman in front of TV cameras when they plead the 5th. It’s a huge missed opportunity to get these people in front of the American people. There’s something about being an idiot that shows up on their faces, no matter how much their attorneys prep them.

The Dems are simply missing the chance to get ahead of this stuff. Do they really think that they’ll be able to salvage these missed opportunities when they finally hold televised hearings? It will just be cringeworthy watching many of these clowns who really don’t have a clue. Unless a leader emerges who can take the fight into the public eye properly. Like the opposite of a Gene McCarthy or something. Otherwise, we are lost. Even some sort of clusterfuck Benghazi-like hearings would be better than having no hearings at all at this point, however.

Now we can learn how pleading the fifth proves innocence.

If everyone pleads the Fifth, they all go free. If there is a Sammy the Bull among them, he sings and gets to walk, while the rest get to walk the yard at Sing Sing.

Public hearings haven’t started yet.

Think of this round like depositions, you depose everyone in private before bringing them out in public to say what they have to say or not say.

I’m envisioning a line of t-shirts that say stuff like, “I pleaded the 5th before it was cool!” or “Plead the 5th! All the cool kids are doing it!” etc.

Could we please stop doing that? Racist shit-baggery is not “conservative”; it’s racist shit-baggery.

This is how these racist mother-fsckers have made racism great again… by relabeling it as “conservative”, but it isn’t, it never was, and we shouldn’t let them get away with calling it that.

“I pleaded the 5th and all I got was this lousy t-shirt”.

Word-salad Translation: “I would have incriminated myself, by answering honestly.”

  • Jones said it was a good thing he didn’t answer all of the committee’s questions because he’s “the type that tries to answer things correctly, even if he doesn’t “know all the answers.”

It’s going to be too little, too late, I fear. They’re seemingly trying to do things so perfectly that the story will have gotten past them, due to other news…Covid, inflation, whatever. A Russian invastion of Ukraine, etc. People who know how the public works will plant seeds early and water them, so that when other things come up, those early plantings still bear some fruit.

Two things: Pleading the fifth does not assure an acquittal, even if everyone in on a given conspiracy pleads the fifth, because usually there’s, you know, evidence.

Sammy did not exactly “skate”, and he spent a fairly long time in prison after he went into witness protection because, as it turns out, even if you’re in witness protection, the Feds take a dim view of heroin trafficking. Who would have guessed?

This is what is commonly known as bullshit.

I dunno, maybe the agent filling out the forms for the cover identity and checking the box next to “heroin trafficker”.

It would’ve been an even bigger missed opportunity to put them in front of the cameras last year instead of this year. Do you really think that having held the hearings last year would’ve somehow made a bigger impact than holding them this year as people are actually deciding for whom they want to vote? Americans have incredibly short memories when it comes to politics, and I don’t see how it would’ve been even slightly more advantageous to have given the GOP a year or more to spin the hearings into something less damaging to them.

Like the public hearing with the Capitol Hill Police Officers carried by all the major networks…

Following up on @teenlaqueefa, how about a t-shirt saying “I was a racist shit bag before it was cool”.

Having just ended a toxic marriage to a borderline personality, I can assure you that trying to pin losers like Trump and others with BPD is a complete waste of time. They are insanely inconsistent and constantly contradict themselves, and if you point it out, you’re the problem. What they say from one minute to the next changes based on their mood, so they’re not being inconsistent, you’re being a neurotic nit picker. I wish journalists would take a course in BPD and stop wasting everyone’s time trying to hold an overgrown toddler to account.
