Guys, we have an air conditioned tour bus that will take you to an opulent golf resort for the night. Or you can walk 5 miles into town and stay at the Blarney Inn and Horse Barn. Or sleep in the plane. Your choice.
It’s a matter of whose orders and the President is the Commander-in-Chief.
In that picture, Eric Trump looks like he is trying to remember how to operate scissors.
This is the first I’ve heard that the aircrews “opted” to stay at Turnberry. The last I was aware of, many of the crewmembers couldn’t afford to really eat while there on their per diem. And really, is “just because we can doesn’t mean we should” the best the Pentagon could come up with?
(sound of my head banging on my desk)
How could the military allow themselves to be compromised by Hair Furor?
While I’m not surprised in the least about his grifting, I am surprised it took this long to uncover it, where is the oversight on the Pentagon’s budget. It seems to only come into play now that Trump is trying to take moneys from the various states for his wall.
Come on Nancy, how many more smoking guns do you need?
It was just a couple of the crews, that’s all. And they all CHOSE to go to a place they couldn’t afford. Thirty miles out of their way. After landing at an airport several hundred miles out of their way.
Yup, got it. More Kool-Aid, please.
He has to wear a hat in Scotland because it’s so windy
Oh, I’m sure this sweeping review will be conducted with the seriousness of the Inspector General of the DOJ.
Somehow, Peter Strzok or Andrew McCabe are responsible for this.
He eventually gave up and decided just to run with them.
Hopefully down a steep hill.
Because this is chump change, it can be fit within their rules, and if they can stay out of the crossfire so cheaply and not be destroyed like other federal agencies have been…
“And the question there is, as our crews are following all guidance and directives we also have to be sensitive to the possible perceptions that might be created on where they may stay.”
So, the crews did nothing wrong, also the crews are to blame. This is bullshit. The crews did not send themselves to the commercial airport near Turnberry instead of Lakenheath or Rota, where they used to refuel. The crews are being thrown under the bus to protect someone else. The Air Force has deteriorated in recent years, but this is just fucking shameful.
potus profit off the US
I read somewhere that someone from the crew told someone that their per diems were too small to pay for their meals at the resort… So I assume some slush fund (e.g., school renovation monies) was raided to cover their bills.
Shirley you must be joking! You have the entire 20th century to show you that the military is the third domino to fall in tyrannical regimes. First is business, second is the judiciary, and military/law enforcement is third.
People need to start coming to grips with the fact that our system has collapsed. We’ve been conditioned by stupid apocalyptic movies to think there’s One Definitive Moment that clearly marks the transition. Not so. People in tyrannical regimes get up in the morning, go to work, go the movies, parties, sporting events, shopping, etc. And they cling to coming elections like that alone will fix everything.
As Ms. Tilda Swinton said to Keanu Reeves in “Constantine”: You’re fucked.
Yeah, and they do so love them some Donnie in Scotland, especially in the neighborhood of the golf course.
Wouldn’t assume that. Just assume that the aircrews ended up eating the extra cost, that’s what usually happens.
Yeah, I’ll just bet they “chose” all right…
Except their per dorm isn’t enough to buy squat at his so called resorts.
So is anyone going to look at why we the taxpayers are paying commercial rates for fuel as opposed to refueling at one of the numerous military airstrips?
My understanding is the House’s investigation into this sordid affair will most definitely evaluate the refuelings, the costs involved and just how and why this location was chosen over what are the regular choices. The military may not look deeply, but I’m guessing the House will.
