I think that President Biden and Secretary of State Blinken have been brilliant in their statements and actions on the Hamas attack and the Israeli-Gaza conflict so far. It is a very complicated situation that has required clear statements and nuance, and they have expressed both with remarkable dexterity.

I can’t believe Republicans are just frittering away control of the House like this. They’ve already burned up 2 weeks. Now they’re actually considering the option of empowering McHenry so that he can move “must-pass” legislation for who knows how long. That means all the stuff the base wants will be shunted aside. As a Dem, I think this is great. If I were a Republican, however, I would be pissed.

“Do you have a view of Jim Jordan’s current predicament being unable to secure the speakership?” one reporter asked.
“I ache for him," Biden replied. Then he laughed. "No. Zero. None.”
I think he meant his sides were aching – from laughter.

A second overwhelming defeat in the vote for speaker of the House has left Jim Jordan with no clear path forward. The House will reconvene this afternoon.
Trump will have to make Jordan his VP in his second term. It’s only logical.
