Or not.

Or not:

College and university presidents – the successful or at least the not unsuccessful ones – usually stick around for about ten years and certainly no more than fifteen. Twelve sounds normal.

Barron looks oddly tacked on. In fact, he just looks odd. In fact, he’s odd.

You’re right - wearing an overcoat inside? And he’s the same height as Jared? I don’t think so. @squirreltown , your opinion?

One box of wine is not going to do it; get her a couple of cases.

If Trump fires her, she’s gonna get schnockered even more than her custom and let loose on the big buffoon. I just hope there’s a microphone nearby.

I don’t understand what the “Early Wins” are? The Powell subpoena was in egregious bad faith and quashed by a federal court, which was a massive rebuke. The investigation into sitting Senators and Reps was comically unconstitutional and went nowhere. Don’t label those clownish totalitarian tactics as “wins.”

Looks like Barron is sporting a clip-on tie and what’s with the shirt collar? His attire looks weird.

Blanche assures anti-abortion supporters that Dobbs will be ‘permanent in every single state’ - POLITICO

On a recording of the call posted online Thursday by the religious group Intercessors for America and hosted by the White House Faith Office, Blanche lamented that the Trump administration’s efforts to restrict abortion are “taking longer than we want” but said the Justice Department was “working hand in hand” with federal health agencies and the White House “so that the Dobbs decision becomes permanent in every single state.

Barack Obama turns 65 today. And if you’re reading this page, you probably remember exactly where you were on the night of November 4, 2008.

Maybe you were in Grant Park, one of a quarter million. Maybe you were on your couch with the phone ringing, everyone you loved calling everyone they loved. The skinny kid with the funny name, as he’d once called himself, stood in front of the country and said, “If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible… tonight is your answer.” You remember. You might have cried. A lot of us did.

Then he gave us eight years of what the job is supposed to look like

Not everyone on the left signed off on every call he made, but nobody ever had to wonder whether the office itself was in steady hands. He brought a decorum we didn’t know we’d miss until it was gone, and he held the job with a dignity that never once had to raise its voice.

When a white supremacist murdered nine worshippers at a Charleston church, it fell to him to deliver the eulogy. The president of the United States stood at the pulpit of Mother Emanuel, went quiet for a long moment, and began to sing “Amazing Grace.” The whole church rose with him. So did half the country, watching from their living rooms.

He and Michelle raised two daughters in that house without a whisper of scandal. They’re grown women now. The gray came in early, and he never bothered hiding it. Michelle still teases him about that. “You don’t dye your hair,” she told him in June. “You could have made the choice.” His answer: “Yeah, it’s too much trouble, but I feel great.”

And history wrote him a birthday punchline. They named a health care law after him as a slur, and he shrugged and told a crowd, “I do care.” Today that man is old enough for Medicare himself. The red-white-and-blue card comes in the mail this year, same as it comes for the rest of us. He ages into the safety net in the very year Congress let his law’s subsidies lapse and priced millions of families out. They have been swinging at that law for sixteen years, through dozens of repeal votes and two Trump terms.

It’s still standing. So is he.

That’s the thing about this birthday. The country he described that night in Grant Park keeps getting harder to see from here. But the man who described it is 65 years old, silver-haired, laughing with his wife, telling anyone who asks that he feels great. Some days that’s the reminder we need: what we had once, we can recognize. What we can recognize, we can choose again.

Happy birthday, Mr. President.
