After Roe’s Fall, Abortion Fight Shifts To State Constitutions

Unlike the Dobbs Court, which threw out nearly fifty years of precedent, this court must respect the precedent set by the Minnesota Supreme Court in Gomez and that precedent will guide this court’s decisions in this case,” he snarked.

emphasis mine

Glad to see this Court is being named after its most atrocious decision.

We do it all the time to visitors.

The question is: why was it necessary to ask her whether she had an abortion?

not to defend a terrible show - but I think it was the railroad’s water tank to refill the steam boiler on the engine - so the next time you’re in the Shady Rest, you can drink the tap water without fear

Is it wrong that my first thought was of Homer Simpson, salivating, while moaning, “…IIIIICK…”?
 :smirk: :mask:

Paywall at the Guardian? I’ve never experienced that. I wonder why. I’m not a subscriber and go there everyday. Odd!

I thought Hee Haw was risqué’r.

And on Kansas’ constitutional amendment question, there is no way that an amendement to the State’s constitution should be allowed short of a majority of the State’s registered voters, and not simply just based on the whims of those citizens who bother to vote, especially Independent voters who typically are prohibited from voting in primary elections! What Kansas Republicans are doing is criminal!

Just a point. Roe was “trashed” because it was unconstitutional under the 10th Amendment, and should never have been law at all. Now the decisions (made by their citizens) are up to the individual states, as the Founders planned.

This shows that the abortion issue has weight.
A lot

He should have referred to it as the Alito Court. Naming it after its most atrocious Justice and burning Roberts at the same time is a win-win.

What fatuous twaddle.

Abortion opponents have already admitted that they won’t stop at the states.
(Also too…fuck the Founders)

On the Dylan “Masked and Anonymous” sound track, “My Back Pages” is sung in Japanese and “Like a Rolling Stone” is rapped in Spanish.

Dobbs is terrible for women. I’m not so quick to say it was the most atrocious. Or maybe it is more Atrocious, bit not the most Dangerous. For now, Blue states can still treat women’s health as a woman’s business

The religious institution rulings, and the allowance of Republican gerrymandering affect the whole country and make redressing any issue from the SC near impossible and the likelihood of American fascist regime under DeSantis more likely, further entrenching white minority rule
