So I’ve kinda been following that group in the pic, Patriot Front’s activities recently and one thing that is really interesting to me is their propaganda uses a lot of leftist language and ideas in it. Now they are certainly NOT leftist in any way, they very much think the Dems are “evil communist”. But while they scream about communist, they mostly scream about the “billionaires” and the “ruling elite”. Now yes, most of the “ruling elite” bullshit is just a linguistic substitute for “jews”, they make that pretty clear, but they very much are taking a populist economic stand. This is going on through much of the militia or “patriot movement” right now. They are rabid ‘anti-communist’ and define all democrats as communist, while constantly highlighting the economic unfairness for the average working person of our current capitalist thing we got going on.
They also are very good at wrapping white supremacy into the trappings of patriotism. They speak constantly about ’national pride’ and wax poetically about being an “American” and “the American spirit”, but unless you read their manifesto you could be forgiving for not understanding that they literally define “American” as white people only or that “Nations” does not mean sovereign countries but “bloodlines” in their blogs and flyers.
If you ever want to see how failing to address the growing economic inequality can lead to racism and facism, Patriot Front is a perfect example.
We have a cop problem in this country. In general they seem to treat white-supremacist killers—and I don’t know why this particular guy did what he did, let me stipulate—as a kind of kindred spirit and the crime as a private concern they’d rather sort out among themselves as a family.

There must be something in the aloha zen spirit in Hawaii that makes them less prone to hate fueled propaganda.

Which is a corollary to “when a man keeps talking about his principles, it means he hasn’t any.”

And yet inexplicably excluded Fox News, Breitbart and myriad “mainstreamed” right wing media outlets and Youtube channels, etc.
I suppose fliers, stickers, banners and posters are not represented at the bar.
