Abrams Slams GA Election Fiasco: ‘It’s A Disaster That Was Imminently Preventable’

Welcome to my day.

Me, neither. What she said gave me no pause.

Why was Abrams’ alleged malapropism placed in a headline?

But it works so expect more. In the end Kemp and the boyz got what they wanted. They know it’s going to bring about a shit boat load of bitching but that cools down in time. Then you have what you wanted for eternity.

Do it. Let the shitstorm fly. Let the shitstorm die and there you are.

Now that she’s spoken out, I’m sure we will eminently/imminently hear of others this happened too.
Because of this whole Bonkers admin, it’s no wonder we’re not all a bunch of conspiracy theorists.

Bad things emanate from Trump’s mind. The craziness is eminent and the crack-up is imminent.

It’s amazing the degree to which Repubs vote based on racism, selfishness, greed and hatred. And of course insanity and idiocy, which is the only way to understand all those the Rapture is coming and god hates gays types. And it’s obviously not just a southern thing anymore.

The reason the voting system is broken in states like GA is because Repubs are in charge, and they’re in charge because of Repub voters, who vote based on these things. They just don’t like minorities, paying taxes or being told what to do, and are utterly incompatible with well-functioning civil society.

Too bad there isn’t some sort of often fatal communicable disease that rapidly spreads among such types, who tend to be older and less healthy and fit, and either too dumb to believe that such a disease exists, or too lazy and stupid to avoid the sort of social activity that helps spread it. Alas.

It’s not just in GA. In Iowa they had a higher than expected voter turn out do to mailing absentee ballots requests to all registered voters. After the election the Republican controlled legislature said" Naw we can’t let this happen again.".

Correction. They’re only against people being able to easily and securely vote in large numbers when they end up losing in such elections. If they thought this would help them win, they’d be all over it.

Who cares? There’s a wad of thinking we can throw at this. “let he who has not sinned among us cast the first stone” seems in play. But there’s also the golden rule of communication: did you understand her as she meant to be understood? She was giving a statement on a threat to our democracy not a grammar lesson. Who givers a shit about the spell check ( probably what’s behind this ) slip?

What mind? It’s all one huge colon up there.

So … In my opinion, Abrams spoke the right word. The TPM folk did not provide a link to the video. (1) If they did not watch the video and hear her speaking, then they must have borrowed the transcription from somewhere without seeing the mistake in it. (2) If they did hear her speaking, they may have done their own “transcription.” Either way, the error should not have appeared here.

Anyhow, the point Abrams was making – about how difficult the Republicans are making it for some people to cast a vote – we know that’s the more important thing by far.

More ballot shenanigans are imminent, and unless electoral reforms emanate from the states, our voting systems will remain eminently corruptable.

Someone cared and asked a question. I answered it.

I agree. Her statement, which I watched her make, was fine.

There’s no (sic) after the word in question which tells me TPM made the error, didn’t notice the error or like me doesn’t give a shit. Nuff on this.

His mind is impacted with undigested conspiracy theories.

Ironically, when I clicked on this there was an insert ad with the headline “4 Warning Signs Of Dementia (#2 Is Scary)”. Fitting. I’m not a fan of doxing, but these shitbags are just asking for it. Sometimes social ostracism is the best way to deal with such types. Unlike fines, prison time or being fired, it’s hard to cope and move on when everyone treats you like a leper.

Which is why he should lay off the nutty ideas.

Much of which could have been avoided by simply calling Stacey Abrams directly, and asking her office or her, questions directly. You know, like journalists are supposed to do. Or at the very least, attending the Zoom conference and taking their own notes.

Could they have gotten through? A lot of that can depend on developing relationships with the person in question (Abrams) and her staff. Which, given that she is a name that has been bandied about as a potential VP pick for over 6 months, is probably something some reporter at TPM should have already cultivated.

But sadly, TPM has gotten very lazy about just using tweets and quotes from other sources. Its not reporting news, its “reporting” on news. And by “reporting” I mean cut and pasting other sources.
