GLADSTONE, Missouri — The right to an abortion in Missouri is on the verge of disappearing, again. It’s a threat that loomed over Tiffany early on a recent September morning, when…
IT’S A TRAP!!! IT’S A TRICK!! needs to be the rallying cry. Point out that the gender affirming care is already banned and they are tricking you into overturning abortion rights.
They don’t think you’re smart enough to figure it out. They think you’re stupid."
And this is why the middle of MO is less populated. You have to live close to the state line so if you’re a woman you can drive across a state line to get an abortion.
It’s the same playbook as the anti-same-sex marriage amendments put on the ballot by Republicans in 2004. Got no material gains to run on in an election? Toss a little bigotry out there, as a treat.
Do the residents of Misery hate transgenders more than they love women’s rights? Tune in in November to find out!
Word is getting out about the abortion ban in Amendment 3. A lot of people I talk with are pissed. They say things like “We voted to legalzie abortion 2 years ago. This is bullshit.” It is hard to find supporters for the ban outside of Springfield.
Republicans have a super majority in the legislature so this kind of shit goes unopposed most of the time. We need an active opposition party in this state.
Your occasional, always timely reminder:
“They tell you that there’s a war on women. There is no war on women — there may be a war on what’s inside of women, but there is no war on women in this country.”
— Dr. “Sleepy” Ben Carson
Yes. There are wonderful aspects to Missouri, but oh my! I will never forget miscarrying a wanted child there.
