No most people I know who’ve gone to get tested have done so without having symptoms. As soon as that option became available to people, they’ve been doing it. A good friend of mine with a young daughter gets himself tested about every two weeks.
And I’m sure regular testing is available for members of Congress with or without symptoms.

The story is that it was a quick test at the White House before flying with IMPOTUS to Texas. Obviously, he got bumped — but then went back to his office to personally inform his staff (Louie doesn’t miss a chance to remove all doubt).
So, there’s every chance he’s at the beginning of the curve and will get sick.

Meanwhile, my sister, who is in public health and is currently in full quarantine because she was exposed to a coworker who tested positive isn’t allowed a retest because she tested negative. Because they are still short of capacity, not because they trust the tests. If they trusted the tests, she wouldn’t still be in quarantine.
