A CBP Radio Tower Is Getting Showered In Vulture Droppings And Vomit

One suggestion mentioned in the WaPo piece was to hang a dead vulture, the thinking is that it will deter the vultures from nesting. It apparently worked with vultures in a different situation.
Why not just build a new tower since this has been going on before Trump took office? Leave the old tower in place, but put the deterrents in place on the new. Vultures have their role in nature.

meh, I confess that I know those facts, but would still not weepā€¦ they scavenge off carcasses and fend off other scavengers has a Republican vibe to me

Did they bring their carry-on luggage?

Indeed, their livelihood is paid by creatures less fortunate. Plus they are physically grotesque. Sounds Republican.

A CBP spokesperson told TPM in an emailed statement that the lawless birds ā€œcreate a safety hazard.ā€

Iā€™ve heard of flightless birds, but never lawless birds.

Actually, hydrochloric acid from the stomachā€™s digestive fluid is in vulture vomit. Uric acid is a product of the breakdown of purines and can be found as a dry mass in bird feces.

Yeah, I knowā€¦but I majored in Chemistry, so I couldnā€™t help myself.

'ā€¦help the agency devise a ā€œvulture deterrence systemā€? Stop killing people.

I was going to say they were ugly - but felt it was too unfair. We canā€™t all be kittens and crows.

Oddly enough, The Wall seems to be keeping the vultures from flying into Mexico.

This is a metaphor for the whole maladministration, which befouls everything it touches.
