I wonder if Barr is hoping to be fired so he can attempt claim some modicum of defense of his record. It shouldn’t work, just because Trump fires you it doesn’t cover all of the misdeeds done at his behest. Barr deserves every bit of scorn he gets from anyone in the future, and more.

Starnes’ tweet suggested on Friday that Barr should be “fired by the end of business today,” if a Wall Street Journal report that said the attorney general had known and kept quiet since the spring about an investigation that involved the younger Biden proved to be true.
The hypocrisy, while not surprising at this point, still needs to be called out. There is an excellent chance Trump would have lost the 2016 election if the FBI and AG at the time would have revealed what they knew regarding the numerous interactions between the Trump campaign, Russia, and other malign foreign actors. It doesn’t matter now, in our current political climate, but it might well have back then.

I think he just has limits in that he will go after anything that will smear someone, but still feels constrained by any actual evidence. Definitely an odd one in the group.

I’m sure Barr is regretting getting hooked up with Trump, but who else would have hired him to be AG at his age ?? Barr’s mission in life was to fortify the dangerous theory of the Unitary Executive where the Executive Branch reigns supreme over both the legislative and judicial branches and the POTUS can do no wrong. Who knew he would end up working for the one clown who would illustrate in flashing neon lights how ludicrous and dangerous this whole whacko theory was in a representative democracy ? Barr inadvertently contributed to the biggest demonstration that the Unitary Executive Theory is, fundamentally, a theory of sedition against we the people. Barr like Trump is a moral and political failure, but unlike Trump, at this point he knows how badly he fucked up. He will live the rest of his miserable life in shame. Hopefully the WDC Bar will disbar him to make sure all his followers don’t try to emulate his bad example.
