This is character assassination based on LIES from a sitting US Senator. Have they no shame? I’m so sick of people getting away with this kind of thing. It’s just WRONG.

I would assume they read him his rights, including his right to an attorney, as they are required to do by law. Many people, innocent or guilty, naively think they can handle police questioning and avoid any traps. But after how many hours of questioning and the when they give you your confession to sign, wouldn’t even person of somewhat below normal intelligence and/or sound mental health ask for an attorney? I tend to think he never asked for one, perhaps under the influence of very skilled interrogators, because something is off with him.
