There is literally no harm in getting name recognition now for the person who will challenge her. The person that replaces her needs to be a strong contender and will need to have the campaign dollars to compete against seemingly every lobby willing to pay off Sinema.

I disagree for a couple of reasons. First, because there is no guarantee that she’s even going to run for reelection. She’s tanking her Dem support in AZ to earn a quick buck, and there is no winning path for an Independent if she switches. I think she may just take the money and run for the door, register as a lobbyist or sit on a Pharma corporate board.
But here’s the main reason: Every dollar and every bit of media attention has to be focused on Dems running in the 2022 midterms, not way out in 2024. There is an opportunity cost in spending time and money on dashing Sinema’s reelection hopes, when the most important election for us is right around the corner.

Good question, but d’you think Turnip will even ask whether it’s legal to spend the millions he’s squeezed from his rubes on whatever he wants? I doubt it, he’ll just go ahead and spend it. His army of unpaid shysters will hem and haw and stall any inquiries, claiming every penny he’s ever had is protected by imaginary executive privilege, while it is in practice protected since birth by his very real white privilege, until he’s dead. Which in my happiest dreams is very soon.

All the messaging in the world is not going to make any difference in this case since it’s basically the equivalent of an AP style choice to refer to them as moderates.
It’s also embedded in the common language in the respect that it has as much chance of happening as acknowledgement that what is called the left in the U.S. is the equivalent of the center in Europe.

Right now the biggest risk to Sen Astronaut in 2022 is Sinema destroying any credibility that electing democrats means electing a party that cares about governance and can deliver legislation meet the problems we face.

Whenever I use the veterans discount at Lowes/Home Depot etc and am thanked for my service I use that as an opportunity to point out that America’s wars are not all honorable and the rotten wars of the past several generations were based on lies and hubris. Just to break that knee-jerk customer service hollow platitude egg shell.
