I don’t know which scares me more, the Trump cadre that truly believe, or the ones who don’t but still want to be close to the movement Trump has unleashed.
I still can’t decide if Trump is smart or just cunning. Listening to Olivia Troye, who was Pence’s security advisor, Trump knew what the doctors and public health officials were saying with regards to the WH COVID meetings. And then there’s the bleach and UV light comment.
Then there’s the reporting from last night about how Trump scammed the GSA over the DC Trump hotel. Now in this case this is right in Donnie’s wheelhouse, but to also somehow convince Deutsche Bank to renegotiate $700M in loans is inconceivable to me.

Now to be honest the first time I saw raw transcripts of interviews he did with newspaper editorial boards it was exactly like this statement, essentially a stream of consciousness that was entirely incoherent, random stuff. He had a different set of obsessions then but the inability to organize his thoughts was just as notable. And sure enough, he’s arguably never actually done anything in all this time and it’s no surprise, given that inability.

The instant you see it you’re filled with despair. It’s like a huge black hole at the center of a galaxy from which no grace, humor, dignity, transcendence, beauty, or any other thing that makes life worth living can escape, that writhing he does. Tfg will never understand elections. He thinks he automatically wins cuz he’s the former guy… better than anyone always. But there are winners and losers in elections and he lost. He will never accept it.
