Anthony Albanese will remain Prime Minister as Labor wins not just the federal election but also a majority government. But it was bad news for the Coalition with Peter Dutton not only losing the election but also his seat.
Hey, I got an idea. Why don’t we try something like that here, where rich pricks can’t buy elections? Oh, riiight…we tried that. SCOTUS said we have to let those billionaires buy off politicians and buy our democracy along with our Supreme Court Justices too, just for good measure.
You know, if this is even 10% true, you would think the press would have noticed before the election and made some comment that there was something definitely off about the man, beyond the usual I mean.
But naw, Biden is too old. (Which even if true, does not give the press a pass on Donald Trump.)
I am old enough and I do remember. Many water districts (like the one I grew up in) decided not to fluoridate their water simply to avoid the hassle. The anti-Communist-plot-to-poison-us-with-fluorides right wingers were few in number but vocal (and wealthy) troublemakers.
This whole war on everything that isn’t MAGA Trumpy enough is tiring. Just like the law firms that caved, or bent the knee, the News channels that are part of these large conglomerates of corporate entities just need to tell His Royal Orangeness to pound sand. He’ll sue them anyway, over anything.
And the UN should announce they’re moving to Canada. Sending Waltzing Mike as an ambassador is a joke. And Rubio is going shrink down to be so small he can hide under the sofa cushions with the weight of all the jobs DonOLD has given him.
Today, the Trump Administration released its budget plan for 2026, which would gut the National Park Service, jeopardizing the protection, maintenance and operation of our more than 430 national parks across the country. The administration’s budget calls for a cut of more than $1 billion to the National Park Service that if enacted would be the largest cut in the Park Service’s 109-year history. The budget also proposes turning some national park sites over to states and removing them from the National Park System, a move that has never before been proposed by a president.
A friend’s son and family have a house still standing in Altadena, in a 1920s neighborhood that mostly burned. The house is full of toxic ash, both lead and asbestos. It will be possible (thought expensive) to clean the house, but how to remove toxic dust from the yard where small children will play?
