If Trudeau and our other “allies” deserve a “special place in hell”, then Trump’s, Kudlow’s and Navarro’s version of heaven must contain Vladimir Putin, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Rodrigo Duterte and Marine Le Pen.

I just read Kushner did a search on Amazon for “China” and “trade” and liked the book title “Death by China.” That’s why this is happening.

Since the GOP’s ideology basically involves an exterminationist hatred of liberals and anyone opposed to their total control of domestic affairs, stand by for a total collapse in the basic American perception that countries like Canada or Germany are the good guys, and a rise in the perception (already prevalent in a large portion of the GOP base) that dictatorships are our natural allies. When half of the country doesn’t believe–really, truly believe that the other side is legitimate if it wins the votes–in a democratic system, this is the logical outcome.
Even of the GOP isn’t in bed with Putin, it no longer matters. Not at all. tena made an exceptionally excellent analogy regarding Rump and the GOP a few months back; I should have copied it for future reference. They thought that they could control/recreate him and somehow, hold onto power through Rump’s base within the country as a whole.
But holding onto power in a destroyed country with no clear way of getting rid of the cancerous parts doesn’t get very far and has little to show for it. I believe this is the reason so many Rethugs headed for the exists starting last year: what’s the point even if you do manage to get reelected?

These people live in the early 20th Century, where the world had at most a couple hundred million legitimate consumers.
We live in a web-connected GLOBAL realm of billions of consumers, the old models won’t work now, we need progressive, generous and perpetual Keynesian policies to stimulate the global economy, and The American Middle Class Consumer has proven to be the ultimate champ at that job.
Until these fiscal dinosaurs wake up and smell those billions, we are ALL unwillingly relegated to money-grubbing governance trapped in the 20th Century. These people live in a fantasy world that is a fraction of the real one and they make fiscal policies based on that old and enduring falsehood.
The spin machine is already running in high gear. They are anticipating the North Korea talks are going to be a failure and are laying the ground work to be able to blame anybody other than Trump.
On the other hand, a wise man once said “don’t try to explain things in terms of a conspiracy when there is an abundance of stupidity in the mix.”
But… I suppose that both can still be true.

What are they smoking, snorting , injecting etc at the White House? I suggest a DEA inspection, don’t forget the garden, mushrooms make people act strange too.
I hope Mueller proves it asap in hopes that will give us some time to do something about election interference in Nov.
Would that be a financial depressin or a psychological depression of the people?
I suppose the world’s response to this should be to stop buying US products since the White House seems determined to go it alone. I’m ready to do my part - call me in 2 years if you manage to get rid of this guy.
