Will Comrade Cockholster be invading Venezuela before or after he invades Mexico?

“Once again, Latin Americans will be looking for Pence to reassure them, to put a lot of daylight between his more traditional, moderate Republican views and those of his meandering president."

God help us. Pence is a “moderate” because he isn’t demonstrably a gibbering loon.

Donlad was joking people get a sense of humour would ya!

Not a loon you say…hummm I might have to disagree with you on this!

Any Trump threat makes Maduro stronger.

He should just keep his mouth shut. Unfortunately that’s one of those skill’s that Trump does not posses.

The AP is right on this one. I’ve done and am doing a lot of work involving Venezuela, going back to the beginning of the Chàvez regime, and Trump threatening to invade is the stupidest effing thing he could have said. It was just what Maduro needed. Now the anti-American imperialist crap he and the Chàvistas have been spouting for years sounds legitimate.

Effing idiot

When Trump makes an announcement of one kind or another, Pence stands next to him. Pence looks at Trump in an adoring worshipful manner. Pence sells himself as a Christian. But he has forgotten the commandment that says, “You shall have no other gods.”

Pence’s adoring countenance towards Trump, his nodding agreement to Trump’s reckless statements, and his inability to demonstrate any semblance of principle are all disgusting.

I doubt Pence adores Trump. Pence and his wife are off to Latin America to reassure allies. He just got back from Eastern Europe where he had to do the same thing. But none of these countries are buying what Pence is being forced to try and sell.

All VP’s smile and nod at their president. I’ve always found it a bit much.

Meanwhile, a couple days ago I saw a headline go by saying that Putin is getting some really good deals on Venezuelan oil reserves by being the only person willing to offer any money at all to the Maduro regime.

The history (insofar as I understand it, which is not that well) is a real mess – the usual oligarch-vs-socialist divide, a socialist safety net funded by oil revenues back when oil was at its peak prices (and an economy taken over by oil instead of diversifying). And then what do you do when oil prices go down. It’s not as if everything will be hunky-dory if Maduro backs off and his opposition takes power…
