With any other politician’s tweets, as limited a means of communication as they are, you could at least present a rational response, good or bad, positive or negative. With Trump, it seems, the only response available is some variant of: “Is he crazy?” Yet we’re constantly returning to this “Shit Trump Says” ineffable, yet strangely cozy place, which is intellectually barren.

I agree with you, up to a point. Trump’s audience is not us. The point of the tweets is to keep the base focused on the right things, and not enraged about the wrong things. They should care enormously about whether Hillary cheated to win the primary, and now whether Obama hid evidence of foreign interference in her favor (crazy as that sounds, many will believe it); they should care that Obamacare is failing, and that premiums are rising; they should NOT care or pay attention to TrumpRussia, to the details of AHCA, etc.
I’m not convinced that his tweets are failing to keep his base in line.
