If not the CBO, then whom?

As a Christian…F@CK YOU Trump! You are a sham and a blight on Democracy! You are EVERYTHING that is WRONG with this country. You are a bigot, misogynist and an enemy to human rights. There is a sweet warm place for you in HELL! Hope your TV “ratings” are off the charts! But then again, I don’t think Christ gives a sh!t about Nielsen ratings. Enjoy all that you TOAD of a human being.

Amen.

I’m talking here about print media and most of their reporters being the responsible adults in the room. NYT and WaPo which I read regularly have gone to great lengths including running full page ads at the former declaring it’s on a truth mission. WaPo changed its masthead to include this phrase Democracy Dies In Darkness. I believe they’ve done this to establish that they will be truthful and on the side of at the very least its readership. It’s TV news and its talking heads which created an environment which there must be news on top of news and always grabbing people’s attention and who grabs better than trumpee.

@bluintenn @pluckyinky

Manchin may very well go along with voting down this piece of crap that’s been presented to them. There’s a provision in the existing ACA, and I have to assume Manchin knows about it, which makes it easier for miners to file for benefits for treatment arising from black lung disease (by which time they’re really hurting). How could he explain he’s stripping them of this care on top of the Medicaid expansion.

I will agree with you on that. At least the print media has been actually doing their jobs now, while the TV media has been almost completely fawning over this administration.

“Trump Admin Keeps Up Attacks On CBO Before It Scores ACA Repeal Bill.” They know the report is going to be bad, probably worse than Brookings. What is really going to be bad is if the Trump base is particularly targeted.

24/7 TV’s got to crank out news, and so it’s over the top a lot of the time, esp. for certain reporters who need to retain access to the administration. Also, I have the greatest admiration for Katy Tur of MSNBC who was embedded in the trump campaign. He would go to great lengths to single her out at his rube rallies to belittle and demean, to the point where she was once escorted out of the venue by police because she feared she’d be harmed. Nice guy they voted for.

Strange times - the republicans are so afraid of their new healthcare bill, they bypassed committee hearings, and are trying to ram it through without vetting or discussion and before the Congressional Budget Office can analyze or score it. Paul Ryan and Trump are so terrified what the CBO has to say, they are trying to discredit the CBO in advance in order to tarnish their report before the CBO has commented on or released it.
This is the roughshod way our republican hired help treats one of the most important issues of our time that is so critical to the health and well being of our nation

Of course it’s the administration’s responsibility to grant access to reporters, but that would be with normal ones, not this learner-administration. The fact that TV reporters fall for this shit is the reason we separate them from their print counterparts.

The only person that I watch almost exclusively now is Rachel Maddow, solely due to the fact that she is one of the few real journalists on TV news these days (that is, she’s willing to go after the stories that others won’t, and researches the living hell out of any story that she does to the best of her and her crew’s abilities).

This is surreal. Monty Pythonesque, even.

And there’s a party called Niet Stemmers (Non-Voters) for the 25% of Dutch voters who are expected to abstain. It promises that its MPs – should it get any – will not vote in parliament either.

If we had such a party, they might constitute the plurality.

So how to unite around getting rid of this cabal of neo fascists. D. Judas Trump is great at reading the deep reptilian brain because his cerebrum has no other attachments except to the reptilian brain. He is destroying our world before our eyes, systematically. Every move he makes, yes even in those “tweets”, is brillantely about deflecting, denying, denigrating, demonizing and demolishing any criticism or facts. It works, always has worked, and will conitune working: until or unless we the people DO WHAT IT TAKES to stop it. Mid terms, marching, writing, calling!

If the only issue were our environment, perhaps we could see how dangerous the situation is. Human survival on Earth is jeopardized now, as we hold this forum. Trump is destroying things, and the “new normal” means death to us all. He doesn’t care, he is incapable of caring. He means to make it happen. He’ll make millions spraying thousands of gallons of Ivanka’s perfume from Air Force One to try to drown the stench of dead and decaying life below. And that will make his infinitesmal self seem REALLY important. The rich Judas. And the malicious Republican congress thinks that’s just fine.
