Discussion: Reports: Butina Met With US Gov't Officials, Received Russian Billionaire's Funding

I sure the fuck hope she’s being waterboarded right now.

TPM–

Haven’t we recently established that translators don’t technically “meet with” the others in the room?

Please reconsider the wording of the headline.

So this was part of the cover identity?

I’m sure it will be spun as “she’s not a russian agent, and she compromised democrats too”. Hence the initial source.

Seems very active politically for your basic grad student.

I recall being buried with studies, research and assisting my mentor during those days

Odd.

Oh, they’re exposing her to FAR worse torture than that.

The little fashionista has been forced into an orange jumpsuit. No jewelry, no handgun.

That tangled web they weave just got a lot more twisted.

Brown roots to glaringly contrast with her red tresses will kill her.

Somehow, there seem to be more Russians than Americans in DC. Are they all different or is it just the same one wearing different disguises?

Oh my, hadn’t thought of that :rofl::rofl:

Bet the hair straightener is out too😉

I read a funny account of how people who weren’t especially interested in playing footsie with Russians reacted during the stage when Erickson and Butina were together. Evidently they kept showing up everywhere, trying to insinuate themselves into every right-wing circle. Erickson was a known quantity as a self-promoting oddball, and they called Butina “that Russian girl.” It’s just so much at odds with Hollywood spies. These were two misfits, basically, who just kept turning up enough to be noticed without really being accepted or playing any understood role most of the time. It’s interesting that at some point she stopped being Torshin’s translator and was translated herself into a representative for a nonexistent gun-rights group back home. How’d they make that connection? I’m eager for someone to piece this together better.

She’s a honey trap. I think once they got enough NRA/GOP types cozying up to her, they cut her lose with $$$ and their blessing.

[/quote]I imagine book and movie agents are already trying to get visitor access to the jail in which Butina currently resides.

Mueller’s team will be visiting, too. For a second or third talk.

Well give me some credit for noticing that much. I mean, she was in a relationship with this one no-name political operative and offered at least one other person sex for a job in an influential organization. The Russkies always, always do this. What I wonder is if there was a preexisting relationship between the NRA and Russia.

You know who else promoted the idea that Russians and Americans could be great allies? NRA president David Keene, when he went to Moscow in 2013 and offered to work with Maria Butina's group 👉 https://t.co/yfAJmOfmkE https://t.co/QNSaxdm7SH

Oh man. We don’t even know the whole story and it’s already the sexiest facet of this whole business. Trump and Stormy? Please. That’s just depressing.

Did you have a sugar daddy who was introducing you to “important” people and doing your homework for you?

No.

I had a three star General overseeing me. Not at anything remotely sugarish about him.
