Discussion: Prosecutor: Woman 'Purposely' Drove Car Into Oklahoma Parade Crowd, Killing 4

She might have still been sleep walking when she was booked. I had a relative that was taking that shit and she would drive all over town and not remember doing it. She would blow through tolls and not realize it until the state sent her a fine.

Do you have information that I disputed her mental illness?
No.

Hadn’t thought about it, but it’s definitely a hypothesis. I’m surprised it’s given out so easily.

On the coincidental side, I’m just finishing up with ā€œMr. Mercedesā€, a Stephen King novel about a guy who deliberately drives a car into a crowd.

I remember when Patrick Kennedy smashed his car and he used the ambient defense. I also remember the republicans jumped all over that refusing to believe him.

I blame the white culture; they just were never taught how to behave properly.

Where are the fathers?

Yes, when you said:
ā€œLet’s see how many of the injured survive…
Mental illness has been a buzzword for decades…after Ronnie emptied the mental institutions.ā€

As you wish…

Chambers father, Floyd Chambers, said his daughter had received inpatient mental health treatment several years ago. But nothing seemed amiss recently, except his daughter had recently called and said she wanted to move back home.

Perhaps Governor Jindal would like to criticize this father, in a further attempt to get his poll numbers above 0%.

Again we are sorry for your distress and for those harmed but you are misreading what is meant by these posts. DNL, for example, is not discounting the likelihood that this person has mental illness: what he is pointing out is that the Right which responds to death and injury from gun violence by claiming that it is mostly a problem of mental illness is totally unwilling to do anything about mental illness but imprison the mentally ill – preferably in private prison.

I weep for everyone involved in this story. Another tragic story that’s writing itself on and by the internet. First of all, why in God’s name does every left or right wing lunatic think this is a political failure that can be helped by their rants? This has nothing to do with Oklahoma politics! The only moderation displayed, so far, is that we haven’t been shown the entire video of the car plowing through the crowd, which I presume exists.

I’m not sure how much longer we can rely on the internet to pretend to be journalism. This process seems to have a circus stench to it. Why is the prosecutor out spreading the word that she ā€œpurposelyā€ drove her car into the crowd? Nobody knows that. Why isn’t he down putting the heat on the toxicology lab after three days of no report?

Are we going to accept that she was drunk or stoned? That would pretty well demonize her. ā€œTheyā€ say that she was drunk and just got off work. When and where does she work? Would her coworkers notice if she was drunk? The questions write themselves. If she wasn’t drunk or physically impaired, we have a whole new story.

Where’s the press? Where’s the lab report? This is not justice, so far.
