Reposted from another thread:

Well, the GOP conclusions are as bad or worse than expected.

  1. “a draft report in their year-long Russia probe that states they found no evidence President Trump or anyone affiliated with him colluded with Russian officials to affect the outcome of the 2016 elections”

  2. “while the Russian government did pursue “active measures” to interfere in the 2016 election, they did not do so with the intention of helping Trump’s campaign”

“We found NO COLLUSION. But we are going to look into Demoncrat leaks and how Hillary paid for the Steele dossier.”

In the land of Alternate facts this seems reasonable. In reality its a whitewash.

“with just 238 days until the mid-term elections in November, it’s important that we give the American people the information they need to arm themselves against Russian attempts to influence our elections.”

If I understood a bit of what was said, then the overarching concern of the Republicans is November. Not national security, not criminal events. Just the looks of it all. Because they are worried they are going down."

If the Democrats do regain control, I hope they open investigations all over hell and back.

What is the approval rating of House at this point? There is absolutely no confidence in anything issued by this body. The world waits for the Mueller report. This GOP House is about to be flipped because of that fact. If Scott and Walker can see it, why can’t these mulligans?

the very least that we know for a fact is that Trump campaign officials met with Russians to get dirt on Clinton. That is collusion

Can’t find the Stormy thread, but this is breaking and good.

Whole thing may not pass muster, because the notary fucked up. But for the want of a penny nail…

But wait I’m sure the Republicans ended this so they could form another committee to look into Stormy Daniels. Pull the shades the movies are running.

Totally unsurprised and yet nonetheless actually, honest-to-god nauseated.

But they found collusion! From the “Overview” of the draft majority report:

How anti-Trump research made its way from Russian sources to the Clinton campaign.

Here they must be talking about information that went into the Steele dossier. This is really the congressional equivalent of #qanon thinking, and goes way beyond partisanship and deeply into complicity.

Meeting with foreign spies for any reason is treason to one’s own country.

The GOP’s next phase of the investigation to convince the American people of its findings:

I have a question:
How, after September 11th 2001, and knowing we face bitter wars and insurgencies all over the globe, can you stand there and be perfectly OK with a hostile foreign power manipulating our internal policies? What’s the matter with you?
Not a rhetorical question.
