Your post is the equiv of a perfect society.

There is no such thing as a perfect society.

Yes I do. That you think otherwise is your mistake.

That said I also understand that timely settlements were better for the homeowners and the country as a whole than fighting out myriad criminal cases. The homeowners couldn’t afford to wait for years for the criminal cases in some of the robo-signing instances.

You may feel that the second largest settlement in U.S. history is not sufficient deterrent, and that is up for debate, but I prefer timely settlement to keep people in their homes instead.

I see, so me asking again for you to answer the question about something YOU brought up is “harassment”.

Just admit you don’t want to answer the question because it destroys your nonsense.

LOL

Gotta love special little snowflakes who accuse everyone under the sun of bad faith and corrupt motives, but when confronted with a point-blank question about something they brought up, suddenly it is “harassment”.

Too funny.

There was no reason that both civil and criminal penalties could not have been sought, and you have offered none. They are not mutually exclusive.

Criminal laws were broken repeatedly. They perps should have been prosecuted and jailed. They were not, and they are free to repeat their crimes. Meanwhile, thousands of people, disproportionally black men, languish in jails for minor drug crimes.

That is the two-tiered justice we have in this country. One for the rich and powerful and one for everybody else. And if Obama cared a whit about it, he wouldn’t be accepting $400,000 speaking engagements from the same criminals he bailed out and then refused to prosecute.

Maybe, but we can have better laws which can lessen corruption. Cashing in on public office is as corrupt as it can get. Shame on Obama and all others who think it’s okay.

Seriously, nice discussing this with you. I understand that we disagree. I gotta go. Be well.

He is no longer in office. He is a great speaker and a great draw. If $400,000 is the fee his publicist negotiated, then he is worth $400,000.

Then you don’t seem to be very cognizant of how it would have gone down if the settlement route was not taken. It would have been tied up in the courts for years and the banks would not have settled if criminal charges were still on the table.

In the mean time, the homeowners would be forced out.

You and I may not like that reality, but the banks have enough lawyers to stonewall and delay such cases years if need be. I firmly believe that instead of a protected and expensive (for tax payers) legal battle, a large and timely settlement to relieve homeowners was a better way to go.

And you.

As usual, progressives are their own worst enemies. Can’t all the Sanderses and Warrens of the world just please STFU about Obama just once?

ahhh, but we do have laws that lessen corruption. Now they might not be worth jack, once the Triumvirate finish taking pickaxes to the regulations n laws, but we do have current laws…

Ahhgain

Using a lamp that’s heavily fueled by guilt presumption, American socialist leaders n their followers are seeming intent on taking this dark walk, because if they figure that they can shame 44 and other sim leaders, then maybe that will be their biggest victory.

Those folks really need to be careful, because the November election isn’t the only scab on the American political body.

This sites comment section is a perfect example of why the Dems fail. You mainstream Dem supporters are so far down the Neoliberal rabbit hole you fundamentally do not understand why a large percentage of the left (and frankly the center and right) are SICK of ya’ll taking giant sums of money from the 1% while constantly making those same people even more wealthy (with a few pittance thrown to the poor from the Dems at least).

But hey, keep supporting policies and politicians that make the rich richer and expand income inequity then getting paid by them. All the while condensedly and insultingly shitting over any actual leftist who might support you if you’ll changed your ways a bit. Even funnier that at the same time arrogantly demanding they vote for you.

This seems to be a winning strategy for you, I mean the Dem party holds so much power now because of it right???

So keep it up, it seems to be working right, I’m sure shitting on the only politician that motivates the youth will pay off for you in the long haul.

Keep up the insults and WINNING!

Try to be cogent. The Dems are in the minority and have little power.

Back at you sparky.

Keep attacking fellow progressives and moderates because they don’t conform to your vision of what progressives or moderates should be… and keep winning!

Actually funnier is Libertarians n Green party members getting warned by High Times to not vote for Trump, but because the former were intent to send a message…

Now Jeff Sessions is intent on sending a future message to Greens and Libertarians, but chances are they won’t hear him.

Perhaps because of stuff like this, and the attitudes of supporters on here?

Oh NOOOOO it must be the other people that are the problem.

“Progressives” are not Neoliberals. But hey, it seems to be working for you right? The Dems win so hard with this attitude right.
