Then we can move on to the Jerry Springer segment, where Joe Wilson-like “YOU LIE!” characters pop out of the crowd in response to candidates.

No, see previous comments. Sean Smith was a Foreign Service information specialist, a US State Department employee. He died at the consulate with Christopher Stevens.

From everything I have read, he was completely committed to this and was pretty damn good at it too. And he knew the risks.
My one and only concession to Patricia Smith is that I know how grief can twist people and make them see/believe things in a very muddled way. It is reprehensible that the GOP and the Trump campaign in particular are using this to their own ends as she’ll be left even worse off after the implosion, once the cameras and the fake RWNJ support mechanism disappears in search of the next shiny object they can exploit. She will become even bigger collateral damage.

I think that was what the guests used to be for back in the Green Times, before Thunderdome. Back then you’d invite a Meg Whitman or a Mark Cuban or a Foster Friess or a Sheldon Adelson in hopes that they’d give you money once they’d seen you kick someone’s ass. No one cared who you invited, except in the quaint sense of “should there really be this much money in our system?”
What comedian was it who wanted candidates in race car suits with patches identifying sponsors?
No doubt that he was a Foreign Service employee, otherwise he would not be able to get diplomatic coverage. But I wonder what he was doing in Benghazi, there are no US citizens there that needed their newborns registered, there are no produce exporters that need a USDA liaison, and if there are any locals applying for visas to go to Disneyworld, bet you that there were not enough of them to justify a “consulate”.
YAWN. If I was Clinton Id be more concerned about how Wallace will try to shape the debate int a Foxoganza.

He was. Even those of us who only knew him in passing knew VR was an absolutely amazing guy and very dedicated to what he did. And yeah, his mom is still hurt, wounded, and grieving over this. She can’t move on, and that, along with the lashing out that comes from her pain, should be seen in that light.
Honestly, I don’t think anything would’ve given her any closure on this. This is the kind of pain that wants to have a group of SEALs come home with the heads of her son’s killers. It’s tragic in its own right, and the way the GOP has done their level best to exploit her pain is contemptible. They’re only compounding the damage and giving the bastards that killed VR, Ambassador Stevens, and the others even greater reach.

They died at a CIA station outpost—it was not a consulate.

What he was doing in Benghazi was his job, as an employee of the State Department. He was the guy who made sure the Ambassador’s satphone and every other technical resource was working, and he was attached directly to Ambassador Stevens. He was a career civil servant who’d had previous postings in Iraq (multiple times), Germany, and other countries. He was not a contractor.

Hillary should invite the Commandant of Trump’s military school to sit in the front row. He could force him to stand at attention if all else fails.

Maybe he just wanted to show some diversity in his guests. Despite his claim that he has a great relationship with “the Blacks,” he could not get any African American to sit in his box thus he had to look to Africa. 
Also funding cuts for security for diplomatic compounds around the world pushed by the GOP. The State Dept. is starved, which may be the reason their internet sites and servers are “old and clunky”, as Colin Powell said.
Mrs. Skeletor obviously has lost control of Orange Chicken… I can see him pounding on his desk making sure Malik is present. What is clear is that Dump’s given up – there’s no way he’s gonna expand his voting bloc beyond the deplorables at this point, so it’s just all personal with him. Maybe he got sick of winning…

Why doesn’t HOTOG bring Roger Clinton? According to him, Roger is likely to show up and vote.
Plus, it would really rattle Hillary.
I doubt it. I don’t think anything is going to rattle Hillary at this point. I am dead sure she’s ready for anything.
