Discussion: All Bark, No Bite: Trump Ain't The Negotiator He Bragged About

It’s not too hard to figure out sociopaths. We lived through clown Reagan and the Bush crime family.

This article title is an insult to my dog.

Wow, three months in and he’s effectively lost control of the game… Too many tells at the table, the others will climb all over him.

He would work with the world leaders to renegotiate the deal to their mutual benefit, the statement said.

Their mutual benefit but not the US’s benefit. It would be Trump negotiating.

There is no evidence that Trump was a good negotiator in business. Getting a deal done is not necessarily an accomplishment. On EBay when you put in the high bid, you get a notice that you “won” but sometimes that just means you were willing to pay more than the other suckers.

My-way-or-the-highway is not negotiating.

Trump still thinks he’s the CEO. That’s not how to run a government.

With the way he ran his campaign anyone could have seen this coming. The dumbass never even tried to “pivot”, like the press were so desperately waiting for

Trump is all bully, no pulpit.
Maybe he could try sneering and clenching his fists, and making an anus face?

Actually, to use poker parlance, that is his “tell” when bluffing.

Absolutely. The only thing he is good at is selling his own myth. Except that too is now crumbling.

Another article discussing how Trump is unqualified. Pfffft. Already knew that.

It’s very easy to be a “great negotiator” when you hold all the cards. Back in the day, Trump would stiff his contractors on the agreed-to contract price, and then told them they could either (1) spend years in court against his team of lawyers; or (2) take a low-ball settlement. Believe it or not, the legislative process doesn’t quite work that way, which is not to say it’s any less craven.

Word! This is the understatement of the year, isn’t it?

Quite right. I’m convinced that well-over 90% of the so-called deals he “accomplished” were actually the work of seasoned bankers who helped him achieve his goals only to protect their own interests.

Someone here proferred the adage that once someone owes a bank over $100,000 he will never be refused another loan. The reasoning, obviously, is that the bank wants to be paid back its initial funds, so it must keep lending in hopes of reaching that goal.

It makes a lot of sense, especially in the world of OPM speculation. It also explains why Drumpf was able to push it to its limits, until US bankers finally owned enough real assets that they could finally call it a day and he had to go off-shore to keep his schemes afloat.

And if nothing else, Drumpf is a consumate bullshit artist whenever he’s dealing with people of his magnitude of avarice and ego. As P.T. Barnum so insightfully noted, “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

“Then Trump received a call from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican Prime Minister Enrique Peña Nieto asking him to reconsider.”

Given what we know about the lack of honesty and transparency from the White House, is there any actual evidence that he received these phone calls?

Trudeau and Peno Nieto probably first called each other and said “can you believe this a$$wipe???”

Trudeau hasn’t denied it.

An excellent synopsis of a troubled loser-man!

and this is a revelation to the people who read TPM??

without the capability to read the intent of the editors headline…i think it fair to point out had the media done their job in using the truth of it as the foundation when writing about the puppets “abilities” from day one of the campaign…we would not have to wake up every day in disgust of living the truth THEY FAILED to recognize…or in some cases conceal.
