Scholars or even casual readers of the Hebrew Bible know the cost and outcome of seeking a worldly ruler for Israel’s protection.
And it’s right there in the Presidential oath of office that the President of the United States must love Israel and put the views of the right wing of its politicians above the interests of the United States, the rest of the world and, above all, all other Israelis.

I used to have an older friend who when defending the failed Bush presidency said “well, all this bash Bush stuff doesn’t sound very patriotic to me. I just think we should all come together and support our president in a time of war”.
I’ll give you three guesses as to how he has “come together to support” President Obama.
